Netgear Router login Setup
Netgear provides some of the best networking hardware and their routers are very well known for their reliability and utmost performance. Their routers are pretty easy to install and setup and only takes a couple of minutes of the user’s time. Their routers provide some of the most advanced features that any router has to offer. Most of their routers have the latest QoS (Quality of Service) and the MU-MIMO (Multi User, Multi Input Multi Output) technology that makes sure that every device connected to the router is getting the maximum potential speeds and that the user can enjoy their internet without any interruptions. Some of the advanced features include the Guest Network, Parental Controls, Device Prioritization, Port Forwarding, Network Speed Test and a lot more. To gain access to the advanced features of the Netgear routers, the user has to login to the router first. To access the login interface, the user has to open any internet browser of their choice and type www.routerlogin.net in the address bar. There, the user will be prompted to enter the default information regarding the router. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password” for most of the Netgear routers. The username and password are case sensitive.
If the user is trying to setup the router for the very first time, then the Smart Setup tries to identify the type of connection that the user has set up. It is advised that the initial setup and login process is done and the devices are connected with the help of Ethernet cables. The Smart Setup always chooses the type of internet connection as Dynamic IP. After the Smart Setup has detected the type of internet connection that the user will have, the router will be all setup and ready to use.

- Connect the modem to the WLAN port of the router using an Ethernet cable. It is advised that the connections are wired as wireless connections might corrupt the router.
- Now, connect the device to any of the LAN ports provided at the back of the router using another Ethernet cable. Make sure that the connections are made properly on both ends.
- Switch off the computer or laptop, the modem and the Netgear router and then turn them on again. Wait for the devices to finish booting up.
- Now, open up any internet browser of your choice on the same device and type www.routerlogin.net in the address bar. A login window will open up.
- The login window will ask you for the default username and password. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password” for most of the Netgear routers. The username and the password are both case sensitive. If the user fails to login to the router using the default password, then the user might have changed the password for the router at some point. Try logging in with any other previously set passwords on the router. If that fails too, then the router needs to be reset in order to restore the router back to its factory default settings.
- Enter the default information of the router to login to the router. After the user has logged in, the Setup Wizard web interface will show. Click the Setup Wizard.
- The Setup Wizard will now detect the type of internet connection that you have. The setup wizard will detect the internet connection as Dynamic IP for all the wired connections.
- After the setup wizard has detected the type of internet connection, click Next to save all the settings.
The user will now have setup and logged in to their Netgear router. The user can change or reconfigure their router as they please and start using their internet.
